Partee!

Today was Genitta's party. I started drinking at about 2pm and stopped when I came home to go to bed sometime after 1am. It was a good time!

I only got a few pictures of the beginning of the party since I lost interest in my camera as the day went on and I got drunker.

We met our new neighbor Daryl who is moving into the place right beside Genitta. Right now he is renting the unit two down from Genitta. My cats like to fight with his two cats alot. I am not 100% sure but I think his cats are called Racelyn and Calista.

Grass Licker

This is my baby Jaike. He is a very strange boy at times. I let the boys out after work and Maxx went hunting for mice before I could even get the camera out of the bag. I spotted Jaike however, he was desperately searching for some grass...

You can imagine his pure delight when he finally found what it was he was looking for.

Yum!

Casino Night

It is 9am and I am at work but I am really really tired today and not really wishing to get started yet. I will drag my ass all day and tonight I will be at the Elbow River Casino counting cash in the back room. It is our Casino fundraiser night and I'm predicting it will be a long one. I am really praying that we get out of there before 4am so that I am up and ready for the party on Saturday.

Oh yeah! I haven't mentioned it but my sister is having a pig sangria party on Saturday so there should be some great new pics for the blog. I am planning on drinking alot and then vomitting... because I haven't done that for a long time. Then on Sunday I'll probably be whining and crying because I did vomit... we'll see...

Silence

If you have nothing good to say... don't say anything at all.

I was looking in the computer for pictures and trying to decide what to write about today. I really can't think of any good stories to tell you. So today I leave you with nothing...

I will however give you these beautiful angels to look at :)

I Said No Laughing

I forgot not to laugh... I laughed and I was caught!

I need to remember not to laugh or smile so much around this place I call work!

Detached Psycho On Drugs?

I woke up this morning, opened the back door to let my cats go out for a bit and saw the nicest site in the world. My two lovely godsons walking down the path coming for a visit! I said hi and got the update on what is new and exciting in their lives and then went for my walk. They were gone when I got home so I got on the computer and took a little personality test that I found online... this was the result... it's kind of scary! Go try it out yourself!

Well, you're a detatched psycho. On drugs.
Seek help, but you sure have some nice shading!

5 Hour Plateau

I passed the five hour plateau this morning! In fact it was right around here that it happened. My goal is to walk at least 25 hours before the end of August and I have been trying to go for a 45 minute walk at least 5 days a week.  It sucks and it's hard to get motivated but I've done it and when I got home today I clocked in at 5 hours 31 minutes and 10 seconds.

The cats get to go out for an hour run when I leave in the morning and when I get home they reluctantly come back inside and crash for a bit. Jaike's favorite place is the coffee table and Maxx likes to go for a nap in the front window.

Lame

It's Monday... so not a very eventful day at all. I was soooo tired when I woke up (probably since I slept in on Sun and went to bed at 2am) and dragged my butt to work. I was really busy working on the training revamp at work and then I came home.

I walked over to visit Ren and the boys for a bit after I ate and did the dishes, and we all went and the boys rented Shrek 2 for gamecube. These expressions are priceless!

This is Avery's expression back to Jordan when he said "Hey you can go first.... but can I please go first". It was too cute because you can tell he is trying so hard to get along with his brother tonight but he really wanted to play and Avery couldn't figure out how to make it two player.

This is what he looked like when Avery said no!

My god boys also bought me a wonderful present today... this gorgeous moodring. It changes color and makes me laugh because like my mood it has changed to many different colors already... I LOVE IT :)

A Sunday Stroll

I headed out on the trail again this morning and got this cool picture of the reservoir and Calgary Tower in the background. It always surprises me how the tower seems to stand out from the rest of the buildings downtown. When you are at the tower you are surrounded by huge buildings everywhere, yet from a distance it looks like it stands alone.

This is my great friend who keeps me company and keeps me motivated when I go for long jaunts. It is also my roommate and keeps me company everywhere I go...

I was bored later on in the evening so I went for another walk and headed in the opposite direction. I ended up walking through the old neighborhood and saw many old sites. This is my elementary school. My little brother Kent went here ten years after me and the inside looked the same. When I was in elementary school there was no playground, but by the time Kent got here there was one in the back. I remember this school pretty good. I can vividly remember where my kindergarten classroom to grade four classrooms were, and remember taking "computer" classes on the Apple computers!

I moved to St. Cyril's in grade five. There were too many changes for me that year and it probably wasn't the best move to make, but Genitta was going into Junior High and the parents thought we should change schools and go to the same school. Kent was born in the summer before the big move, and as I said there were too many changes too fast. I don't have too many good memories of this school, I remember egging Mr. Desaultes car the week before I was done grade nine. They so knew it was me but could not prove it... very frustrating for them!

And this is the church... my church...

My family was not particularly religious, I was not baptized in any religion, my mom said that she was leaving that for us to decide for ourselves. I think it was around the time that I moved to St.Cyril's and Kent came along that I decided that maybe we were missing out and I set out to discover my spirituality. Genitta thinks she remembers me being baptized here, but I don't think I was. I have a fogged memory like her of seeing people getting dunked in the tank but I am pretty sure that happened during one of the X-mas pageants that I was in. I woke up and walked to Sunday school every Sunday at this non denomination church for a few years. I remember joining the Youth Group for at least a year and then I just kind of stopped going. I was into cadets pretty seriously by then, and also broadening my spiritual views, discovering numerology, reincarnation, mediumship, and many new age theories. This little church will always hold a special place in my heart however... it was my church.

Rob's Pool Rocks!

Rob invited us all over to swim in the pool it was alot of fun for all!

Avery didn't really want his picture taken and he was devastated to discover that YES his picture was posted on the net for all to see... If you see this please don't tell him you saw him on the internet. He is suing once he turns eighteen!

They were both superstar swimmers all day long. I am pretty sure they kicked Rob's but in the water ball game and Avery kicked my butt in a race across the pool (although he did get a head start!).

Jordan was pretty tired by the end of the swimming experience (and I suspect a bit grumpy) he just hung out on the path and pondered life for awhile...

It was a fun swim, we must go visit young cousin Rob more often :)

It's Saturday

I woke up today and decided I should head down the route again. I decided to go into the park and see what was happening down at the park. It's a beautiful day and there were a few people jumping into the sailboats and heading out into the water. In the background you can see Heritage Park and the big old steamboat.

I walked thru a few of the paths down by the water. There is lots of trees and little paths to follow. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the bugs were no too bad down there either.

This wonderful picture is what I look like as I'm trekking down the path. The sun is in my eyes... I don't usually squint like that unless it is!

This is the long long path on the last leg of the trek home. It seems like it goes on forever with no end in sight but....

At the end of the path is home... It's a great site to see since by the time I see it I am pretty tired and happy to be home!

Weekend Is Here

Im pretty glad that it is finally Friday and the weekend is here!

I am not working at all this weekend and I am not on call. This is a very good thing!!!

I don't have any real "plans" but I'm  sure I will find things to do. My relatives from Holland arrived on Thursday so I will probably go to my parents and see all of them.

The first week of training went well. It seems like a really good group and we definitely need the volunteers, filling the schedule has been HELL lately!

I'll try to get some cool pics up this weekend...

My Morning Gaunt

I woke up this morning and decided to go and enjoy the sum for awhile. I went for a 48 minute walk around the neighborhood and smelled the flowers. This was my route...

New Beginnings

Today kind of feels like a day of new beginnings...

I began a new training group today so I start 2pm-10pm shifts for the next four weeks. It seems like a really good group, everyone was chatting with each other by the end of the night which is always a good sign. I only have one guy in the group however, which is kind of a bummer.

I also talked to the rest of the counsellors who I haven't heard from regarding me switching the training night to Monday night instead of Tuesday for the next year and I got the okay which means... I can volunteer with the Cadets starting August after I am done with this training group. I am a bit anxious about getting back into that but also really quite excited. It will be a nice change. I was talking to my sister a bit about it the other night and I kind of feel like I'm missing losing touch with a lot of who I used to be and who I identify myself to be. I used to be more exciting, I used to go camping in the middle of the winter, put up and attempt obstacle courses, go flying and gliding, rock climb & rappel back down. I know I would probably die if I jumped back into doing all of that but if I am around it and the opportunities are there I will do these things again and be healthy and flexible enough to do so. As I said... kind of scary and kind of exciting, regarless I'm glad to be going in that direction.

I spent most of my day off cleaning up the house. I let it get pretty messy over the last month so it proved to be quite a task.

I did not clean non stop... I ended up cleaning up a bit and then playing on the computer, then cleaning for a bit more, and then watching t.v.

I did end up drinking the rest of my case of beer throughout the day but I didn't get around to sitting on the deck!

I am pretty glad that I got the whole upstairs cleaned up, the diskes done, the floor mopped, the carpet vacuumed, and all of the laundry done. I am starting a new training group at work tomorrow night so my schedule will be going back to 2pm-10pm for awhile.

Maybe I will sit on the deck tomorrow :)

Days Off!

I slept most of today away. I did not get home until about 9:30 this morning. I was not very tired when I got home so I stayed up until about 12:30 playing on the computer and then I wa beat so I layed down on the couch and fell asleep until probably around 7:30. It was a good nap but the house is really hot so when I woke up I was sweating buckets.

It looks like it might rain a little bit tonight and I hope that it does, it would be really nice to cool everything down. I saw my god boys for a little bit tonight and got to see Avery kick but on some helicopter game with Tavis. I just ran to the liquor store and got a case of beer so I am set for my day of relaxation, beer, and reading on the deck tomorrow.

Grandma Lil called me tonight. She has been calling me on Sundays for a little over a year now and I really enjoy it. I wish we would have started this tradition a few years back, she is a really neat lady to chat with and I fear I may only have a few years left to chat with her. I am also thinking of going out for a visit in September after the summer is over and everyone else's holidays are spent.

That's about it today. More news and pics to come tommorrow :)

The End Is Near

That title sounds almost tragic but I still think it is fitting. The longest week from hell is almost over!

I got called in this morning for a 7am-1pm shift and it kind of sucked. I was really hoping NOT to get called in because I picked up a phone room shift tonight from midnight till 8am, and stayed up until 3am so that I could sleep in and not be tired tonight. The plan obviously didn't work out.

I also was looking after Oliver for the last day today and that is also a relief. I love the guy to death but the extra duty and the trama on Thursday really kicked me in the ass this week.

Enough of the crappy news though the GOOD news is that as of 8am tomorrow morning I am off for two whole days. I will probably sleep a lot of Sunday away but the rest of Sunday and all day Monday I will be laying on my deck sipping beers and totally relaxing. I think I'm going to enjoy it and appreciate it tremendously!

My mom, dad and Uncle Jan came over after my morning shift to install a new cabinet in my bathroom. My mom painted the cabinet and it looks really great. It is really nice to get all of the clutter off of my countertop and have a place to put everything and it looks really nice. My sister Genitta added the white hand towel. She says it pulls out the white from the cabinet and my new kitty picture!

Oliver Twist Is Home

Well thank goodness I finally got Oliver Twist home and settled. I went to pick him back up at the Animal Hospital at 8:30 tonight and on the way home he shit and pissed all over himself in the cat pen. It was pretty gross!

When I got him home I cleaned him up as much as I could without tramatizing him further by throwing him in the bath, but he still stunk of urine (as did I and as my car still does). I let him go out on his leash for an hour to air himself out and that helped him a bit.

I finally got home at ten and crawled into the shower. I am totally exhausted from all the excitment and working extra hours lately. Unfortunetly I am on call all weekend and I have a midnight to eight shift tomorrow night so it may not be over yet but soon... soon...

Another Long Crappy Day

Today started really crappy and ended really crappy! Luckily there were a few laughs inbetween!

I woke up this morning tired and not wishing to be up yet... but I got up and I kind of wish I never did, I should have gone back to bed!

It is the first day that I have to go visit Oliver Twist who is my friends cat and feed it and give it his diabetic shot. I COULD NOT find my keys this morning. I searched around for half an hour frantically and got more anxious as each second ticked by because I was now half an hour late and still had to go feed the cat... I finally found them under the kitchen table under some other stuff, they must have fell off the back of the table who knows!

So I frantically rush over to see Oliver and realize that I don't have the instructions from Shiela (my friend) and I can't remember the dose so I run back home and get the note cause I wouldn't want to give him the wrong dose! I rush back over, find Oliver (who is not to be seen now that he has eaten) and gave him his shot!

Work was hectic, I had two interviews and had to be done at 4:30 to get a cab to go and volunteer as in "pin sales" for work. It was a party for the Investor's Group at Fort Calgary and they sponsor on of our events so we were helping them out. This is where I got my laugh of the day. It was a pretty good time... and then it began to POUR!

This is my drive home on Crowchild Trail. It was crazy and my engine was underwater so I almost stalled a few times. If I would have that would have been the end of me! It didn't even stop there. This is the corner of 90th Ave and 24th Street SW across from Glenmore Landing, I am driving into Glenmore Landing looking at the intersection...

So after over an hour driving through lakes (in Calgary???) to get home I stopped to feed Oliver and give him another shot. I took a close look at the syringe and realize that I had given him WAY too much this morning. The second dark line was 10 not 2, all that work and I did end up giving him the wrong dose. I didn't know what to do so I fed him without giving him a shot and looked for a phone book. I couldn't find one so I came home and called the Vet. They suggested that I bring him to the emergency clinic so I did. He is looking okay but his levels are low so they are keeping him overnight. It is now 3:06am (but I am gonna post this as 11:59 so I don't miss out on my Thursday post) I feel soooo bad and this little mistake is going to cost me at least $100. It sucks. This whole day sucks! I really should have stayed in bed :(

Lots of Fun

It was one of my supervisor Val's farewell lunch today so it we all got to go out for lunch and sit on a patio, it was really nice to get out in the middle of the day and have a nice chat with everyone.

Right when I got home Genitta called and said her and Tav were walking down to the point for wings. I just let the little beasts out so I had to wait until I could round them up and then headed down. Tavis wasn't smiling big enough but luckily Genitta decided to help him (please note Ronaye that "I" have the first Genitta blog picture!!).

My two godboys got back today from their week with their dad so I am very happy that they are home. It's too quiet around here and not the same without them...

Look It's Ronaye

Ren got a really nice pic taken for work so I thought I would steal it and post it here too. Go check out Ren's Blog ...

Cadets

I am leaving in about five minutes for an interview with the 604 Air Cadets at Mewata Armories down the street. I have been thinking about going back and volunteering with the cadets as it has been a few years since I have been involved and it would be great to be involved again. I used to do so much when I was a cadet between weekend campout, gliding, tours etc. It is also 604's 50th anniversary this year so there should be lots of fun activities throughout the year. It is going to make my already slightly busy schedule even busier but I think it will be very beneficial if I can figure it out and fit it in. Their parade nights are Tuesdays and activity nights are Thursday or Friday so that may cause a bit of a problem since I train on Tuesday and Thursday when training is taking place but I spoke to Katie briefly about it and it looks like I will be able to get a bit of support so I guess we will see how this goes. I will get some pics and post them when I get home.

I also illegally parked at Staples for the first time today so I am hoping that my car is alright and is still there. Kyle from work has been doing it for months no problem so I do have a bit of faith (but am still worried)...

Ren Has All My Lighters

I am sitting here really wishing that I could have a smoke... but I can't because I used my last match last night and Ren has my lighter of course.

It seems like when her lighter runs out she simply looks around the room and pockets the first lighter that she see's, which is usually mine.

The other day I got a brand new lighter for $2 and made note to try to keep it for a little while since I have been spending $2 on a lighter everytime I spend $10 on a pack of smokes. I lost it within two hours and asked for it back. Ren pulled out another one of my lighters that she had taken previously (I knew it was mine because it was my I LUV NY lighter that my friend Lyn brought from NY) and then she also pulled out my new lighter.

Well I went to Ren's on Thursday for Jordan's birthday and surprise surprise surprise even though I brought a lighter I did not have one to come home with.

I am going to walk my very pissed off self to the co-op once again just to buy a lighter. I think I may just scratch "KEEPS YOUR FUCKING HANDS OFF" all over it in hopes that I can keep this one for maybe four days!

Calgary Stampede Parade

The Calgary Stampede Parade was this morning. I did not go to the parade but I was really happy that it was parade day because I did not have to go into work until 1pm. It is a good thing because the parade route start is a few steps away from where I work and I doubt that I could get into the area otherwise!

I am working my friday shift from 1-4 and then I picked up another phone room shift from 4-12. I work tomorrow 4-12pm and then Sunday 8-4pm so I probably won't be going out this weekend

Party!

I was so sick today. It started about an hour after I went to bed last night and my stomach is still turning. I called in sick from work and sat on my couch all day. My needy plant was looking pretty thirsty this morning so I gave it some water and watched it grow all day long. It is looking pretty good right now.

Crappy ass or not I dragged myself to my Godson Jordan's Birthday party. It took a bit of motivation but you know it's the little things that count and pretty important that I did show up so I went! It was a good time and Jordan seemed to enjoy all his new gifts.

One of the coolest things about the night was getting to see a pretty special kid that we haven't seen in awhile. This is Jordan and Avery's cousin Hayley and her little baby brother Cade. I haven't seen Hayley since she was about four so it was really good to see her, her mother Vicky, and the littlest one who I've never met before Cade.

Thank you Ronaye for putting on another good gig (and great mozza burgers!)

Bunch of Nothing

The biggest reason I needed to get a digital camera was so that I could put pictures into my blog. The first few days I had the camera I took and posted a lot of pictures but for the last few days I've got pretty lazy about it. Nothing is going on so there has been nothing to take pictures of really... I really do want to make good use of my camera though so here are a few pictures of nothing. The first is the scene outside my front window. It is rainy outside and there is someone with their umbrella walking down the path. The other is the depressing scene I looked at when I got home, it is only Wednesday and the dishes are already piling up... shitty...
