Jaike and Racelin

Daryl moved into our townhouse complex about two years ago with his two cats Racelin and Calista and since day one none of my cats have gotten along with Daryl's cats. On many occasions I have heard a major scuffle and screams that resemble a small child being murdered coming from the backyard and have run out there to find Jaike or Maxx and Racelin in a huge scrap with ripped out fur flying all over the neighborhood. I do not let my new little kitten go outside at all and one of the reasons is that I think Racelin might just tear him to shreds!

Luckily both me and Daryl are pretty good about just seperating the cats, dragging them inside, and getting on with our day with no hard feelings about his cat beating up my cat or vice-versa (unlike my other neighbor who scowled at me for a week when my cat "attacked" his dog).

Well imagine my surprize this morning when I went outside to get Jaike in and found him hanging out on the hill with his #1 sworn enemy! I couldn't believe my eyes... I went back inside to get the camera because believe me people this is like a once in a lifetime event... are they really becoming friends after all this time and all that lost fur???

Maybe... but I won't hold my breath cause they hissed away at each other when I did go down to grab Jaike to bring him inside... I guess we will see...

Kelly's Back

It was a pretty busy weekend. Busier than most at least!

Kelly was my roommate for a few years a couple of years back, he was looking for a place to call home for a little while so he gave me a call to see if he could come live at my place. I said of course and than realized I had some work to do if there was going to be any room in my little house for him to move some stuff in!

I decided to move into the second bedroom so the first task was to move all my furniture, clothes, and everything else out of one room and into the other. I still had not taken any of the boxes and crap back upstairs from when I renovated a few months ago so that was task number two. Then there was the fridge... Kelly bought a pile of groceries to replenish the fridge which meant that I had to deal with my pathetic fridge which had a bunch of molded food in it and also had syrup running down the walls and all over the bottom from when that bottle spilled a few months ago. It felt like I was doing little tasks all weekend but it also really felt good after I was all done because it was all stuff that I have been meaning to get to but just was not motivated at all to actually do.

The battery also finally died on me on Sunday. It has been having problems for over a month and I had a feeling that it was on it's last legs so it wasn't a huge surprise but still sucked and was another task to add to the list. Kelly was super helpful with that as well, he bought a new battery and pretty much figured out how to get the old corroded battery (the screws were old, rusted, and would not budge an inch) out and got the new battery installed and in place. It was a good weekend and really nice to have Kelly around again... he really can be a handy guy :)

I Miss My Maxx

I was searching thru some old disks looking for an old video I edited a few years ago for Kelly... I can't find the damb video but I came across a few pictures of Jaike and Maxx and wow does that ever pull at the heart strings! It's seven months since Maxx has passed and I sure miss my ole buddy more than ever. I miss laughing at his little feckled nose... I still think about him every night when I go to bed and he's just not there... I really hope and pray that there is a rainbow bridge and that he is happy, safe, and will be waiting for me one day... I want my cat back...

Hanging With The Janzen's

I used to live in a house with a pool... and the tradition was on May long weekend to fill up the pool and have the first pool party of the year. I was just thinking of the old pool house and of my old roomate Kelly when low and behold I get a message this morning from Kelly claiming he's hanging out by the pool.

I was intrigued so I got up and called him back... sure enough he did get himself a little pool for the backyard and invited me to come visit him and the kids and see the pool :)

I really was expected a dinky little backyard pool but he went all out in Kelly style and got a pretty big one with a pump, net and everything! The Kids even have a boat!

We played a ton of games in the pool, Zak was a great fisherman/water demon and Ceilee really enjoys floating around in the boat.

It was a really nice afternoon. It's been way too long since I've seen the kids and they have grown like weeds. They are both so gorgeous and really great kids to hang with.

I grabbed a slurpee on the way over and ran into the looney store to grab a few toys for the kids. I found some water bombs that were the hit of the day, some magnifying glasses that Kelly used to catch the grass on fire, and some cheap little airplanes that Zak got his hands on right away and assembled pretty much by himself!

The kids really had a great time, and we all ended up pretty red, here is Zak and Ceilee rowing their boat!

Tevin's Baby Shower

Today we had the baby shower for Genitta and Tevin.

It was hosted by my sister's good friend Kris who did an absolutely wonderful job putting together the decorations, foods, and everything else for the day.

It was great to see everyone and to catch up on what everyone is up to!

Tevin received tons of really gifts, they were all so beautiful and nice!

She even tested a few out :)

It was a really nice shower and a great afternoon.

Ben's Story

It's been really nice outside the last few days so I have been letting Jaike go out and it is driving lil Benji nuts.

He is sitting around being depressed and wondering why Jaike gets to go out into the big world and he doesn't.

He's taken to loving and chewing on my dress shoes in protest!!!

Then licking them ferociously (and sticking his tongue out at me)...

Occasionally he runs to the backdoor and coos and meows in hopes that I will

Carry him outside to see if we can see Jaike and to see if Jaike wants to come in yet...

And if the answer is no than it's back to loving the shoe...

Poor Ben.

Lil Ms. Tevin

This just makes me laugh too hard!
