Not Much To Report

Well look who actually got their webcam up and running.

I hung out at home this weekend and also got to chat with Avery, Jordan, and Ronaye on the webcam :)

My friend Susan is also trying to get her webcam up and running but she is having some problems with that! Right now her computer and new camera are at future shop so I hope they have better luck than she had.

I tired to troubleshoot for her yesterday but we really didn't have to much luck with that at all!

Not much else to report on for the long weekend. I had supper at my parents last night and didn't even leave the house today. I played GTA San Andreas for 11 hours straight today and finished the game but that was about the most productive thing I did all weekend... not very productive at all!

A Visit With Tevin

I was busy today at a health fair at one of the high schools and then headed over to Genitta's for a quick visit. Genitta and Tavis have set up their blog now (it's where I stole the above picture from!) so you can go visit there for millions of new Tevin pictures daily! I am very excited about it! The site is called The Freeman Forum so be sure to go check it out and leave a comment :)

I ended up staying for awhile and Genitta invited me to stay for dinner... so I guess I did get my free dinner on Single's Day :)

Happy Single's Day

Well it's Valentine's Day and my usual Valentine's have moved off to Saskatoon (my godsons)... and well as usual there is no other Valentine even being close to in sight...

Kelly said it perfectly in her Valentine's Day post back in 2001...

2/14/2001
There's an inherent problem with Valentine's Day. It's a day for couple's to celebrate being coupled. However, isn't that what ANNIVERSARIES are for? It's singles that really need the holiday...a day to celebrate being single as there are just no other days to do that "officially". Another problem with the concept of Valentine's Day is that it's a day for couples to give each other presents. Duh...that can be and is done everyday already. Poor singles have no one to give them gifts anyday except the normal holidays like birthdays and Christmas but then the singles have to give to the couples. The way I'm seeing it is that the couples are getting hit with gifts left and right and the singles not only sleep in a cold bed every night but are not getting any consolation gifts either. Lastly, isn't Valentine's Day supposed to be ST. Valentine's Day? If it is then since when would a day about sex and lust be approved of by a saint. I'm pretty sure St. Valentine wasn't getting any booty. I could be wrong about this but it just seems off.
For these above reasons I think that a new and improved holiday should be instituted....I hereby declare February 15th SINGLE'S DAY!!! The rules of Single's Day is as follows:
- Singles must get presents from couples. (they are now tax deductible so big gifts are recommended)
- Singles must be taken out to dinner and must receive flowers from couples (aforementioned couples must be miserable and fight throughout the meal, consistently telling the single that love hurts, love sucks, love bites.
- All couples must refrain from romance and sex on this day in honor of the singles not getting any. (I have no way really of checking up on this but there shall be NO rosy glows emitting from any duos.)
- There should only be ads, tv shows, movies about marital infidelity, spousal abuse, etc. (All day showings of Kramer vs. Kramer, War of the Roses, Madame Butterfly and Sally Jesse Raphael are approved watching.)
I need to come up with a graphic symbol or branding to combat the dastardly hearts and roses symbol...any ideas?
So this is it and seeing that I'm the one to originate this day I must be revered and worshipped and the day must be unofficially called St. Kelly's Day.

Tevin had only a few minutes to recover and then...

Chris and Ayla popped in to visit the new arrival...

and then Melissa and lil cousin Sophie came over as well...

Auntie Sasha couldn't come over and visit yet because she has been really sick and sneezing all over the place since Monday... but hopefully tomorrow there will be a visit and some new pictures to post :)

Tevin Brooke Freeman

My sister gave birth to a beautiful baby girl this afternoon at 2:07pm. They are both doing wonderful and should be home hopefully by tomorrow afternoon.

Tevin is 7lbs 14.5 oz and is 48.5 cm long!

Genitta and Tavis headed to the hospital at about 4am last night but I guess the actual hard labor came really hard and fast and Tevin arrived in about an hour!

My mom was with Genitta for the birth and was able to watch her first grandchild being born!

My dad arrived at the hospital right on time and got to be Tevin's very first official visitor.

Everything went so well and Tevin is doing AWESOME. She is really alert, is eating well, and is super content.

I think that everyone is just really happy that everything went so well and that she is finally here!

I took my mom back after Genitta had a chance to shower and settle in. I broke the hospital's new rule about having no visitors and snuck into the room. I actually ended up having a really nice long visit since we were there from about 7pm until just after 10pm.

We stayed until Genitta had the chance to change the baby's clothes and diaper for the first time and until Tevin settled back to sleep and then left so Genitta could get some much needed rest.

Congratulations Genitta and Tavis!!!

It is so great to have her here!!!

Off To Edmonton

I was back off to Edmonton this weekend for the Youth Advisoty Council. I was worried because we were'nt sure if I would miss the arrival of my niece if I was gone for the weekend... but no niece yet.

It was a great weekend. We worked on a few projects but spent most of our time doing different activities and getting to know each other better.

It was really nice to get home to Calgary though. :)

I got home at around 7pm and my mom and dad had come in and finished off my floor. It looks GREAT! It's so nice to have that finished so I can move back all of the furniture. My dad even picked me up really nice new thick baseboards so I am set. It is going to look awesome!
