The Trip Was Great!

The trip out to the cabin was great! I guess it rained on Friday night and Saturday but the weather was absolutely beutiful by the time we arrived on Sunday.

Avery loved playing pool down at the lodge so we spent alot of time down there... it was nice though cause Avery met some other kids to play with as well and it gave me a chance to read and just hang out.

We went into Banff to check out the falls at the Banff Springs Hotel. Avery thought that the hotel looked like Harry Potter's House and that maybe that is where they film the movies.

We also went to the trading post where we saw the merman skeleton and lots of stuffed animal heads and other native art, clothing and trickets. Avery bought himself a rabbits foot, my mom bought both me and Ave matching glowing rings, and me and my dad got dreamcatchers.

To end the trip to Banff off my mom spotted some wildlife on the drive home so we stopped the car like typical tourists and took some pics... by the time we left there were four more cars pulled up with their cameras as well.

I slipped on my rubber clogs to pack up the car on Sunday and accidently drove away wearing them... leaving my shoes behind at home... so I was stuck with these rubber things which ARE NOT walking shoes. I could'nt take it anymore after spending the whole day walking around Banff so I broke down and bought two new pairs of sandals in Canmore.

Ave got spoiled by my mom with lots of treats and Nutella for breakfast every morning. My mom taught him to play her card game and he in turn forced me to learn it and play it with him, my mom, and my aunt Alli daily... it ended up being a pretty good card game.

We all headed out on another roadtrip on Wednesday with our first stop being the natural bridge...

We then headed up the road to check out Emerald Lake... It was awesome and very emerald!

The best site of the day was definitely Takakka Falls... the falls sprayed out so far it felt like it was raining!

Avery and Alli found a squirrel on our way back to the car and it came pretty close to him :)

The last few days we just hung out at the cabin... played alot more pool... a few video games... and alot more cards...

It was a really great trip and I had a great time hanging out with my mom, dad, aunt Alli and my godson Avery!

I'm Out At The Cabin

I am heading out to the cabin at Dead Man's Flats tomorrow with my godson Avery.

My parents are already up there with a few other relatives but we decided to stay back a few days until Genitta got home so that I could take care of her cats until she gets back and she can take care of mine while I am at the cabin.

It's going to be great to just sit back and enjoy nature... I'll take some pics for you all and will be back in a week ")

Calgary Stampede

I went to the Calgary Stampede Grandstand show with my mom and a few other relatives who were in town for the wedding last weekend. I haven't seen the show in quite a few years so it was really nice to go again.

I went for a quick walk around the park once we got there and good ols Terry Stokes the magician was up on the coca-cola stage doing his hypnotism show... Terry Stokes has been at that stage at the exact same time doing the exact same show since I first started going to the Calgary Stampede like 25 years ago!

Everything else at the Stampede grounds seemed to be in the exact same place as the last time I saw it as well.

We headed to the Grandstand early in order because we had "rush seating" and had to rush to get some good seats for the show.
And surprisingly me, Alli, and Freda discovered that the smoking pit was actually the best place in the house to get pictures of the chuckwagon races!

And after many rounds of chuckwagon races the sky finally got dark and the real show began...

It was a really great show!
