Merry Christmas 2006

Well this year Christmas morning started out at Genitta's house. It is Tevin's first Christmas and she did a really good job of ripping all of her presents open.

I'm not sure if she liked the wrapping paper, ribbons and bows better or the toys inside but it was nice to she her enjoying everything so much.

The whole fam-damily came over to watch Tevin enjoying her presents and to celebrate the holidays. Tevin had a great time hanging out with Grandma...

Hanging on the couch with Opa...

and spending time with Gram and Grampa!

So many new toys and gifts to check out. This is the pooh bear that I got her as part of a winnie the pooh set. She really liked Tigger and Pooh... but she wasn't so fond of Piglette or Eyore!

Uncle Kent found a very cool little juke box that Tevin thought was very very cool!

A definite hit in the bunch was her brand new set of blocks that feel great stuck into her mouth :)

There was not too much assembly required this year but these guys took care of the toys that did need to be assembled... or dissembled depending on how you look at it!

Genitta was glowing and looked like she had a great time opening her gifts...

Kent was hapy with the stash of gifts he picked up...

And mom had WAY too much fun opening all of Tevin's girts with her!

Genitta and Tavis were busy most of the morning preparing drinks and a gourmet brunch for the family (Tavis looks a bit stunned here).

Presents continued AFTER we ate...

and here we are all happy and stuffed...

The last few gifts were unwrapped and celebrated...

and when it was all said and done Kent fell asleep with Genitta's new snowman stocking!

Dinner was at mom's house and was quite quiet this year with only mom, dad, Kent and myself in attendance. This is my baby Spook... he is like sixteen years old and is shrinking every time I visit him!

and for a final holiday giggle. I noticed something was a little bit odd with the Christmas sign my mom put up in the kitchen... then I just had to take a picture cause this is just SO GENIA!!!

Merry X-Mas Everyone!!!!!

Susan's Update

I received a special email this morning from Susan asking oh so nicely for an update on the blog... so here is a very long overdue one for you :)

At the beginning of December work organized a "wellness event" and we all headed down to Heritage Park for the Twelve Days of Christmas. We met up at the hotel for brunch where we had sausages, pancakes, and waffles galore and then since we were all WAY to full we wandered around the park looking at the sites.

Carolyn really wanted to take a sleigh ride with the horses but the line up was way too long and there were way too many kids so we made do with walking over to the barn area and petting the horses that were down there. I swear they give those horses steroids cause they were alot bigger than most horses I have seen but Carolyn says that I am wrong and they are just that big from pulling the sleighs all the time...

I really liked the train set up they had in one of the buildings. You can't really see it here but the have it set up so a few trains are going around at the same time and they are actually all going around and around a little miniture heritage park!

Last Friday we had our Christmas parties at work. At lunch we had a staff party and then in the evening we did it all over again with the volunteers. It was a Christmas party but for some reason we had a "Hawaii" theme going this year with pinapples everywhere.

We all got lei's to wear during lunch so even if you didnt wear your hawaiian gear we all looked the part. It must have looked odd to the outside world however since everytime we went outside we got comments from people about being "lei'd".

This is Nav and me partying away. We did start out with more accessories but since we were partying all day and night we both lost out lei's eventually.

Bonny and Serena showed up at some time with their reindeer ears and finally brought some Christmas to the party. It was a good time and a reminder that Christmas really is right around the corner... still havent gone shopping so I guess I need to get out there and get prepared!
