Over The Holidays

Well Christmas has come and passed... Here is the update on what was up for Christmas :)

I guess the festivities started with Avery and Jordan's Christmas Concert. The boys sang their hearts out and we were also able to tour the art gallary and see what they have been upto in art.
This is Jordan's fish...

and Avery made this jug out of paper mache...

A few days later I returned to the Distress Centre to help Robyn and a few other volunteers take Christmas to Langdon House. This year the volunteers decided to adopt Langdon House which is a housing unit in Calgary that is home to many of the older men with mental illnesses in Calgary. They are really forgotten at Christmas and the volunteers ended up raising more money than we ever imagined. Each resident of the home recieved a huge Christmas parcel filled with presents.

We also prepared Turkey sandwiches and a really nice lunch for them to enjoy on December 24th. It kind of turned into a bit of a family project for me and the family as well since my sister offered to donate two huge turkeys, my mom ended up cooking the turkey's for me and my dad did an awesome job carving them all up for us!

A few of us took all the presents and food down to the home and saw the residents enjoying their gifts and lunch... it was really nice to be able to bring Christmas to them this year.

On Christmas Eve I headed over to my mom to visit with my with family.

The boys were happy as it was the beginning of gift opening!

Christmas Day was spend at home with Mom, Dad, Genittta and Tavis (I forgot to take pictures!) and then on Boxing Day we met up with the extended family again at Melissa and James for the second annual Boxing Day Shrimp Fest!

Oh yes and there was also more gifts for the kids!

And to end off the holidays me and the boys had a sleepover party.
